Pair of Chrome Postmodern Candlesticks by Markus Borgens for D-TEC
Germany, c. 1980s
A pair of postmodern candlesticks designed by Markus Borgens for D-TEC, Germany, circa 1980s.
The design is defined by a tall, architectural composition, with slender vertical rods connecting a conical base to an inverted cone form at the top. The geometry is simple and deliberate, creating a sense of balance and lightness despite the height.
Executed in chrome-plated metal, the surface reflects light cleanly, emphasising the structure of the piece. The pair works well both as a functional object and as a sculptural presence when displayed unlit.
In very good vintage condition, with light wear consistent with age and use.
