Deschamps Frères French Art Deco Silver-Plated Champagne Bucket, c. 1930s
A French Art Deco silver-plated champagne bucket or wine cooler by Deschamps Frères, Paris, circa 1930s.
The piece is distinguished by its faceted body, flared rim and sculptural ring handles. Its clean architectural form is shaped by vertical planes, creating a subtle play of reflection across the polished silver-plated surface. The interior has a softly aged tone, contrasting beautifully with the brighter exterior.
On either side, articulated ring handles add a decorative detail while reinforcing the bucket’s elegant geometric character. With its flared silhouette and faceted body, the piece sits firmly within the language of French Art Deco barware.
Founded in Paris in 1923, Deschamps Frères was a French silver-plated tableware maker active during the Art Deco period. This piece reflects the refined, architectural style associated with French entertaining objects of the era.
It works beautifully for champagne or wine, but also as a decorative object, vase or styling piece for a dining table, bar cart or console.
Marked Deschamps Frères with “18” silvering mark.
