Germany - c. 1970s
Silver-Plated Three-Light Candelabra
A vintage silver-plated three-light candelabra, purchased in Germany and dating to around the 1970s.
The design is built around a sculptural scroll-form structure, with incised bands to the box-section capitals, C-scroll arms supporting the fluted candle cups, an S-scroll central frame and curled scroll feet. These repeated curves give the piece a strong sense of rhythm and movement, while the polished silver-plated surface adds reflection and elegance.
The form closely follows a known German 835 silver candelabra model associated with Lutz & Weiss, a Pforzheim silverware manufacturer known for finely made 20th-century silver table and decorative pieces. This example is silver-plated and should be understood as a later decorative interpretation rather than a solid silver Lutz & Weiss piece.
Each candle holder is fitted with a removable cup insert, allowing for easier use and cleaning. Both elegant and theatrical, the piece works beautifully as a table centrepiece, mantel accent, or decorative object, adding height, reflection and atmosphere to an interior setting.
