Art Deco Bohemia Faceted Crystal Vase Attributed to Moser in Eldor

A compact Art Deco crystal vase attributed to Moser, defined by its crisp, sharply cut vertical ribs that feature razor-sharp line transitions to the touch, leading to a flared rim and a stepped octagonal foot. The heavy crystal displays a deep olive-gold tone closely resembling Moser’s signature Eldor color formulation, shifting dynamically from warm tobacco and olive-green to near-black where the glass is thickest. Light catches sharply along the eight hand-cut ribs, creating strong reflections and giving the compact form an unexpectedly architectural presence.

At 16 cm high and weighing a substantial 590 g, the dense crystal, ultra-precise faceting, and resonant ring reflect exceptional physical quality far beyond its scale. Its disciplined geometry is characteristic of Central European glassmaking from the late 1920s and 1930s, a period when Moser produced some of its most celebrated faceted forms in richly colored crystal, letting flawless edge work, precise proportion, and cut carry the visual weight.

The vase is unsigned, so the attribution is made cautiously, based on its form, octagonal foot construction, color batch, weight, crisp edge execution, and close comparison with documented period Bohemian examples. Restrained in form yet visually rich, it stands as a striking exercise in light, geometry, and early 20th-century glass craftsmanship.
