Art Deco Bohemian Crystal Vase

A compact Art Deco crystal vase in the style of Josef Hoffmann, dating to circa 1920s–1930s.

The elongated body is defined by eight pronounced vertical ribs, rising from a substantial faceted octagonal foot to a broad, gently flared rim. Its deep smoke-toned glass shifts from warm olive and tobacco brown to almost black in the thicker sections, giving the vase a remarkable depth of colour.

The disciplined geometry and architectural silhouette are characteristic of the Art Deco period, with a beautiful emphasis on proportion, line and light.

At 16 cm high and weighing approximately 590 g, it has a pleasing solidity and a strong sculptural presence.

A striking piece whether left empty or arranged with a few simple stems.
